It’s half past six, and it’s time to leave your lovely bed, get out of your warm duvet and start a new day. You might get out of bed singing with enthusiasm, but you might also wake up with a newfound listlessness. If you feel as such, it’s time to work on a new morning routine! With the tips below, you’re sure to get your day off to a good start. Pick a few and reap the benefits throughout the day!
1) Forget the Phone
Put down the phone for a while. Often, apps, emails, and messages start pouring in in the morning as soon as your coworkers, friends, or family get out of bed. So put the phone down for the first hour you’re awake. That way, you won’t have to think about work or other obligations right away.
2) Stay in Bed for a While
Prepare a healthy, light, and delicious breakfast with a cup of coffee or tea and have it in bed. For instance, you can have fruit, cookies, or cereals such as muesli. A good breakfast will help start the day healthily and in a relaxed way.
3) Breathe in the Fresh Morning Air
What could be better than the scent of the morning? Get up and open the window, or better yet, take a nice walk! Inhale and exhale a few times deeply and let your body wake up pleasantly.
4) Come Back To Yourself Before Welcoming the Day
In the morning, retreat for a few minutes and come back to yourself. Breathe in profoundly several times through your nose and exhale through your mouth. Completely relax and unwind. When you feel ready, you can face the day. Those who live with tranquility are more stable and happier in daily life.
5) Decide What Your Day Will Bring
Approach your day by making a shortlist of three things you want to accomplish today. Don’t be too ambitious, but don’t make it too easy either. The list will immediately give structure and direction to your day. You will feel like you are in control of your life, and that is great!
6) Dress up To Good Music
Who says dressing up in the morning has to be miserable? Put on your favorite music. You’ll find that getting dressed will be a lot more fun if you can sing along to your favorite song.
7) Spread Some Love Now!
Love makes life beautiful, so start spreading it as soon as you wake up. Hug your partner or say something sweet. Are you single? Then cuddle with your dog, say something nice to someone at home or be a loving person at work.
8) Praise Yourself and Be Grateful
Think happy and positive thoughts. It may sound a little confusing, but it works. There are many things we can be grateful for. Please take a moment in the morning to reflect on it. Think of three things that make you happy. By writing them down, you reinforce them. It’s perfect for your mood and your well-being. Plus, you can come back to it later if you feel a little less confident.
9) Have Something To Look Forward To
Every day should have a highlight. Does today seem a bit boring to you? Then make sure you have a highlight too! Say to yourself that tonight you will open a nice bottle of wine or watch a good movie. That way, you’ll immediately have something to look forward to for the rest of the day.
